What has our PPG achieved in the past year?

The PPG worked with the practice to draft the Practice and Patient Charter, now displayed in the practice’s waiting rooms. This document sets out the practice’s commitment to patients, and the expectations the practice has of patients.

The PPG and practice decided the practice should purchase a camera to use during consultations, when photographing conditions would assist with diagnoses and referrals. In 2013/14, the annual patient survey showed that 86% would be comfortable with this activity.

The PPG discussed the use of telephone and Skype consultations with the practice, and reviewed a draft patient leaflet informing patients of how to use these consultations. The practice aims to introduce Skype consultations by 31 March 2016.

Commitment

Two meetings per year to discuss our provision and manner of delivery of services. Meetings will take place on a weekday, in the evening.

Impartiality

Meetings will be facilitated by an individual who is not a member of the practice.

Confidentiality

All PPG participants have signed a confidentiality statement to prevent the unauthorised disclosure of confidential information

Accessibility

We endeavour to create an inclusive, representative group. Meetings will be held in an area which is accessible for wheelchair users. We will enable representation in conference/Skype form for the housebound if feasible. If you have any other requirements, please let us know.
